Never, EVER  shake a baby! Just walk away!

Stop Shaken Baby Syndrome Inc.

Each year in the United States alone, an estimated 1,400-1,600 babies are shaken for whom treatment is sought. Don’t let your child become just another statistic!  Tell everyone who cares for your child “Never shake a baby!”

When people hear in the news about a baby being shaken, their first thought automatically is usually, “Who would do such a thing?”  The thing is… most people who shake babies do so not to intentionally cause harm, but simply because they are tired, frustrated and are just trying to get the baby to stop crying.

Yet shaking a baby causes irreversible harm to babies and young children… and one in four shaken babies die from their injuries. The majority of the rest suffer permanent brain damage resulting in various disabilities.

However unintentional it is most of the time, shaking a baby is an act of violence, and it’s a very serious form of child abuse.  Be sure to tell everyone who cares for your baby to “Never, ever shake a baby or small child.  Just walk away!
